Are You On The Voters List?

Nanaimo By-Election March 26, 2011
Advance Elector Registration

To find out if you are on the List of Electors, you can call the Legislative Services Department at 250-754-4405 or visit them on the second floor of City Hall at 455 Wallace Street.

If you are not on the List of Electors and wish to register in advance of voting day, advance registrations will be accepted at the Legislative Services Department until Tuesday February 1st, 2011 at 4:30 pm.

If you do not register by Feb. 1st you will not be able to register from then until voting day on March 26. To determine if you qualify to vote visit the city website by clicking here.
To see if you are on the voters list you can check by clicking here.

If you have not been keeping up with local municipal politics the purpose of the by-election is to find a new councilor to fill the vacancy left by the recently departed Larry McNabb. If you have watched some of the recent council debates, it is clear they need a tie breaker as this Council seems easily split on several if not many issues.

Be Sure To Register
Be Sure To Get Informed
Be Sure To Vote

If you have visited this site before you will know one of my pet sayings is that Democracy is Too Important to Leave To Politicians. It is up to US the voting public to be informed and involved in the whole process.
Remember if you don't participate in the process to select those to govern over you, you have no right to bitch and complain when you don't like what they do ... like raise your taxes.
