June Raabe February Feature Artist

Nanaimo Arts Council
February Feature Show Artist

June’s collection of watercolours, acrylics, pastel, pen and ink, have shown in many varied venues on Vancouver Island. She came to Canada at age 12, from London England. She had her first lessons in watercolour at the age of eight and at fifteen she spent a summer at the Banff School for Fine Arts.

June attended the Vancouver School of Art in her youth, is a life member of the Nanaimo Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and has been active with the Nanaimo Arts Council for a number of years.  June notes, “Painting is a compulsion. My goal is to capture a momentary emotion, a fleeting impression. I hope to share my vision with the viewer, perhaps creating some touch point with their lives”.

June will be at the gallery Thursday afternoons from 1:30pm to 5:30pm throughout the month of February.  Please drop by as she will be pleased to answer questions about the work.  For more information visit nanaimoartscouncil.ca or call 250.729.3947.
