Operation Nanaimo-Gram A Success

Flag of 100 Heroes Returns Home

After traveling 27,000 km through the war zone of Afghanistan the Nanaimo City Flag bearing the signatures of 100 Canadian soldiers has found it's way back to Nanaimo where it will be on display in various public places for the next six months.

The operation was to show support for the 30,000 soldiers who have served in Afghanistan since 2006. Particularly mindful of the sacrifice paid by the 154 fallen soldiers and the injured returning soldiers. Over 150 Nanaimo residents have been deployed to Afghanistan.
Organizations interested in having the flag on display can contact the Vancouver Island Military Museum located in Nanaimo North Town Centre.
