Van Isle 360 Final Leg
The yachts racing in the 2011 Van Isle 360 race around Vancouver Island will be leaving Victoria at 15:00 hrs. (3:00 pm) today, June 17 on the final leg of the race which ends in Nanaimo.
According to the schedule they should be finishing in Nanaimo sometime on the same day with the 18th and 19th also scheduled as Finish/Lay Days.
The awards party is to be held on June 19. It seems like only yesterday we were down at the inner harbour watching them depart at the start of the race. I wonder if the time has gone as fast for the competitors as it seems to have gone for me.
Depending on when they arrive it could be quite a spectacle as they return to the Nanaimo harbour.
