Gabriola Ferry Terminal Damaged

Gabriola Ferry Traffic Diverted

Damage to the trestle at the Nanaimo terminal for the Gabriola Ferry has rendered the facility unsafe for vehicle passage. The damage resulted when a paving truck went off the trestle and into the water on Thursday night, the drive escaped the vehicle unharmed.

Until repairs are made, vehicle traffic between Gabriola and Nanaimo will be routed to Duke Point while foot traffic will be serviced by water taxi from Gabriola to F Dock at Nanaimo Harbour.
BC Ferries will be posting schedules for both services on their website sometime today.
