Deer At Rest

Summer Time And The Livin' Is Easy

The other night while atop Sugarloaf Mountain I came across one of Nanaimo's loved or hated residents. This deer, while cautious was clearly not troubled by my closeness. She and another smaller deer were comfortably lying in the grass soaking up the last rays of the warming sun.

As I was leaving I saw both deer heading down from the mountain, likely headed for some of the prize roses grown by the gardeners in the houses below.
