Observe School Zone Speed Limits Schools Will Be Open Again Next Week
Remember that starting next Tuesday Nanaimo area schools will once again be open after the summer holidays. That means that the 30 km/h speed limit applies in school zones. You can bet police will be out in force to insure the safety of our youngest citizens.
Speeding in a school zone will also cost you if you get caught with fines ranging from $196 - $253 and 3 demerit points. So remember as the old saying goes " children are not careless, they are just carefree". It is up to the motoring public to make sure we watch out for them everywhere and especially in school zones.
