Attack Ads Already?

BC Liberals are warming up for the next election early it would seem. They have run the above Adrian Dix attack ad in some TV spots as well as setting up a website RiskyDix.ca where they take full aim at Mr. Dix.

NDP Ad Took Aim At Clark

Not long ago the NDP took a few shots at Liberal leader Christy Clark clearly attempting to tie her to the 'same old, same old Liberals'.

It Might Be Refreshing.....

If politicians of ALL stripes instead of being constantly in 'campaign mode' were in governing mode with the objective of working cooperatively for the good of the people as a whole! Let's face it, it takes very little skill to occupy the opposition benches as there is always something which can be criticized with ANY policy. But instead of constantly wagging fingers and telling us how bad the other party's ideas are, how about putting forward some concrete suggestions which can improve on policy being discussed. It seems as if all parties have to pretend that their ideas are the only valid ones and they can never acknowledge the upside of the other party's ideas.

Unproven System....

Let's face it, whether you are right wing, left wing or no wing this whole system of wealth distribution and self governance is a work in progress since we have no time in history to draw from as an example of a perfectly functioning democracy. As Churchill is credited as saying.... democracy is the worst form of government ..... except for all the others we have tried.

The Occupy movement of this past year is an example of an outward demonstration of the frustration experienced in some quarters by the current state of affairs. I would suggest, that as long as men have ruled over men there has always been inequalities in the system. That is just the nature of men.

  1. Happy New Year!

    Well said, Jim!

Am not aware of any other employment that provides an outrageous amount of compensation, (including pension), to those, whose skill-set appears to be that of providing criticism and not much else.

And then there are the many political candidates, whose success is ensured, when their campaigns receive major support, (financially, and by other means), from the many special interest groups.

The average constituent is not well served by the toxic partisanship of the political system at ALL levels of government.

AFTER being elected, it appears that there is a lack of courage to speak out about the need for any reform to the “system”.
