City begins injunction
process
On Thursday December 1st, the
City of Nanaimo obtained an Order for Short Leave (the “Order”) before the
Honourable Mr. Justice Savage at the Nanaimo Courthouse.
The Order expedites the court process
for the City’s application to remove the permanent occupation at the Diana Krall
Plaza which includes tents, structures, personal belongings and occupiers.
The City’s application will be heard on
Friday December 9th at 10:00am.
The City respects the court process. As
this matter is before the courts, the City will await direction from a Justice
in the Supreme Court of British Columbia before taking further enforcement
action.
