What in Hell Were They Thinking??

Dog Needs Surgery
To Remove Embedded Collar

This seven  month old German Shepherd cross pup was recently rescued from it's tormenters. Apparently the dog had been tied in someone's yard for so long that the undersized collar was embedded in the dogs neck.

The wound itself was quite severe and badly infected when 'Wilma' was rescued and taken to a local veterinary where she underwent surgery to have the collar removed and her would cleansed and stitched.

In spite of her condition apparently even with her injury she was wagging her tail when brought in and is now recovering at the SPCA where I am sure this 'heart stealer' will have little trouble finding a loving, caring home where she can enjoy her life as intended.

Given her treatment you might expect her to be fearful and even agressive toward people, but that is not the case as she clearly is a people pooch who will be a fine companion for some lucky family.

You can learn more about Wilma by visiting the Nanaimo SPCA website HERE.
