At Least We Don't Have To Shovel It

Your Gutters Shouldn't Look Like This

The weather office still has a rainfall warning in effect for the east coast of Vancouver Island with as much as another 40 mm of rain expected in some areas for Wed. Jan. 4.

Now is a good time to check and make sure your gutters are not plugged as overflowing gutters can cause serious water damage to parts of your house. If you are unsteady or uncertain about yourself on a ladder, look in the employment wanted sections for someone to come and clear your gutters. It could be money well spent. Make sure anyone you do hire, is properly insured and that they carry their own worker's compensation coverage.

If you rely on a sump pump to remove water from your basement, check to make sure it is working properly as they are known to fail from time to time.

In the meantime consider yourself fortunate that all that precipitation is not falling as the white stuff and remember that is one of the many benefits of living on the wet coast of Canada.
