Calling All Nanaimo Area Actors

First Ever Nanaimo Group Audition
January 7 & 8, 1:00 - 4:00 PM
Nanaimo Centre Stage

For the first time in the history of Nanaimo, three local theatre companies are working together to hold a general audition call for each of their seasons. All with upcoming projects this spring and fall, Schmooze Productions, Western Edge Theatre & Pacific Coast Stage Company (producers of Fringetastic) will hold collaborative general-call auditions at Nanaimo Centre Stage 1 - 4 pm on January 7 & 8.

The three companies are auditioning for separate musical projects in the upcoming year. Pacific Coast Stage is developing an adapted version of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog (January 25, 26, 27 at Vancouver Island University), Schmooze Productions is mounting the full-scale, critically acclaimed musical smash hit, The Full Monty (April 19 -  May 12 at Nanaimo Centre Stage) and Western Edge is prepping for its original new musical, Moonbound! (Fall 2012, also at Nanaimo Centre Stage).

For those interested in attending, Auditions are from 1-4pm, January 7 & 8, and all auditioners are asked to prepare a short monologue (or a reading or just tell a good story). In order to be considered for a role in an upcoming musical, auditioners must also perform 16 bars of their best song, be prepared to test vocal range with an accompanist, and perform a short choreographed movement sequence.

For more information about specific projects, feel free to contact individual company’s websites or ask at auditions. Better yet, search facebook for the Name of the company, become a fan and “poke” us.
