Note Times For Special FPCOW Meetings
For those who follow such city hall business, you will be aware that most Finance Policy Committee of the Whole (FPCOW) meetings happen on the Mondays which are alternate to the regular City Council Meetings. They also usually start at 4:30PM (meaning most working people can't attend) and are held in the city hall boardroom as opposed the Shaw Auditorium where regular council meetings are held.
With the introduction of the new Financial Plan for the next five years, the city has scheduled several Special FPCOW meetings to deal specifically with the budget. This is the time for YOU to see how city council and city staff will determine how to spend YOUR tax dollars, and how many of YOUR tax dollars they are going to spend. If you aren't a fan of ever-increasing taxes,now is your chance to offer your input and make suggestions as to how you want to see YOUR city run.
Follows are the changes to the FPCOW meeting schedules for the first half of January 2012:
- Tues. Jan. 10, 2012 City Hall Boardroom Starts at 1:30PM
- Mon. Jan. 16, 2012 City Hall Boardroom Starts at 3:00 PM
- Tues. Jan. 17, 2012 City Hall Boardroom Starts at 1:30 PM
