Easter Family Fun Downtown

Easter Egg 'Hunting' A Breeze In Downtown Nanaimo

The weather on Saturday in downtown Nanaimo was nothing short of spectacular and amidst the arrary of dazzling spring blooms young families could be seen everywhere. They were being  led about by face-painted, bunny ear-wearing, basket toting little ones in search of Easter goodies.

The downtown merchants where treats could be found were identified with two or more brightly coloured balloons and egg-hunters knew they would be rewarded with a stop at these shops. A very large white Easter bunny was reported making the rounds, sadly, I was not able to find this shy creature during my time downtown but must say I was pleased to see the large number of young families with young children making their way through downtown Nanaimo.

In addition to the treats to be found in Diana Krall Plaza there was face painting, and bouncy castles for the wee ones, as well, the Cedar Lion's were hosting a great pancake breakfast for only $6.00 and it was great!

If you didn't 'hop on down' to downtown Nanaimo on the weekend, you missed a great start to another great spring/summer season on the Greatest Street in Canada!
