Don't Feed Geese In City Parks

Nanaimo Bylaw Prohibits Feeding Wildlife

The above sign is posted in Maffeo Sutton Park and is intended to discourage the feeding of geese in the park, which as everyone knows have very poor 'bathroom' habits. Anyone who has had the experience of trying to negotiate a grassy area after a number of geese have been present understand why encouraging them is not desirable.

I don't know if feeding the ducks in the pond in Bowen Park is equally frowned upon, although I doubt if the ducks pose the same troubles as our Canada Geese flocks.
