Strategic Plan Discussion Draft On-line

 More Public Participation Needed

A first draft of the Strategic Plan will be posted to the Strategic Planning Blog on May 15 for public review and comment. Vision, mission, values and operating philosophy statements have been approved in principle, along with six strategic priorities. These are described in the draft Strategic Plan.

Steering Committee Chair, Councillor Jim Kipp stated, “Public commentary on the statements and priorities is essential to help Council make important decisions that will affect Nanaimo in major ways in the future.” The goal of Strategic Planning is to set a policy framework to link all existing City plans, and to establish priorities for municipal investments and action over the next 3-5 years. Kipp continues “We hope to receive community input right through to the conclusion of the planning process
