Invasive Weed Control In Nanaimo

 Let’s Talk About Invasive Plants

Invasive plants are weedy, non-native plant species that have been introduced outside of their natural range. They are known as invasives, noxious weeds and introduced, alien, and exotic plants. Invasive plants do so well here because they lack natural controls and are able to spread and establish quickly. Impacts of these plants can be detrimental to humans, animals and entire ecosystems.

The City of Nanaimo is reviewing its current approach to managing invasive plants on public and private lands.

Join us for an evening to learn more about invasive plants in our community and to hear about the challenges in managing them on public and private land. Share your thoughts and ideas with us on invasive plants in our Parks and our backyards.
