Perfect Weather For Some BBQ Ribs!
The weather couldn't have been better on Saturday for the first day of the first annual Thrifty Foods Nanaimo Barbecue Festival.
Competitors put their barbecuing skills to the test competing for the grand prize as well as the Peoples' Choice prize. For $1 you can buy a sample, buy $5 worth and get a voting token so you can decided which competitor puts out the 'Peoples Choice'.
The Festival continues Sunday until 6:00 pm with live entertainment in the Krall Space feature David Gogo and others. There is also a trade show in the conference centre featuring over 40 exhibitors.
The Unanimous festival sounds like a treat. Too bad that I have to enjoy it from home. But if this happens everywhere, I might give it a shot next year. I know the weather is the biggest factor in it, but from your photograph it seems that you guys had a ball. I am in love with the idea of being able to vote for the people's choice.
