Housing Starts Off 19% June 2012 / 2011
Year To Date Up 20% Overall
Multiple housing starts year to date June 2012 / 2011 are up 33% and single detached housing starts are up 1%.
Year to date comparisons for the first six months of 2012 compared with 2011 show single detached dwellings up slightly from 114 in 2011 to 115 in 2012 for a increase of 1%. Multiple dwelling starts on the other hand increased from 176 units in 2011 to 234 units in 2012 for a 33% increase.
The month of June had an decrease in single detached houses from 27. in 2011 to 22 in 2012 for an decrease of 19%. For the month multiple housing starts decreased by 29% from 24 in 2011 to 17 in 2012.
