FISHING FOR PINK SALMON
You can try your luck angling for supper downtown along the Millstone river and the adjacent harbour as well as Departure Bay. Be sure to pick up the appropriate licence, as the fish are free,  but fishing for them isn't.

CANNON FIRING, BASTION & MUSEUM
If you haven't checked out our tourists attractions yet this summer, this is a good weekend to head on downtown and see the cannon firing at noon, then visit the Bastion and wander down the Great Street to the Museum, checking out the art galleries along the way. While you're there stop for a coffee and desert or lunch at one of the local eateries to round out the trip.

PARKS & TRAILS, WATERFRONT PARKS AND WALKS
Of course the acres and acres of parks and kilometers and kilometers of trails and waterfront walkways means that if none of the above appeals, there is still no excuse for going any place else this weekend. To look up more information about our parks and trails and also reference a map use this Nanaimo Info LINK.
