Military Museum Progressing Nicely

The Vancouver Island Military Museum at 100 Cameron Street hopes to be open to the public near the end of September.

Currently a new roof is being installed including new sheathing and shingles as well as new murals adorning the outside walls.

The museum used to be housed in the Nanaimo North Town Centre Mall until having to vacate that space earlier this year. The museum was able to strike a deal with the city which sees them moved into the building that used to house the Nanaimo Museum.

Once open they should provide another downtown attraction that will attract the attention of residents and tourists alike.
