Free Skating In Nanaimo

Free Everyone Welcome Skate

Looking for some free family fun? Here is some exciting news, beginning this Sunday, the Lions Club of Nanaimo in partnership with Save-On-Foods, and the City of Nanaimo, Parks, Recreation & Culture department will sponsor FREE Everyone welcome skate sessions at the Nanaimo Ice centre from 3-5pm for the next 26 weeks.

Since forming in 1946, the Nanaimo Lions Club has made significant contributions to the quality of life in Nanaimo. The group is responsible for the creation of a number community amenities and events; the Nanaimo Lions Pavilion in Maffeo-Sutton Park, the Lions Great Bridge - the pedestrian walking bridge spanning the mouth of the Millstone River, the Annual Christmas Parade, the Annual Empire Day Parade, and the list goes on. Continuing this tradition, the Nanaimo Lions Club, whose motto is WE SERVE is joining forces with Save-On Foods to offer families an opportunity for free family fun.

Save-On-Foods has been a local company in Nanaimo since 1918. The company has supported numerous community events such as, non profit charity's, schools, Loaves & Fishes Food Bank, Salvation Army Food Bank, B.C. Children's Hospital, Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival, and many more.
