Nanaimo Gas Stations Price Fixing??

Well I see that some gasoline retailers are finally lowering their prices slightly, now that they have squeezed every last penny they could out of the long weekend motoring public.

As noted earlier on this blog, Comox and Duncan have both be selling gasoline for the entire month of August for 120.9/litre, while all the Nanaimo stations were pumping for 129.9 all month.

Do you suppose anyone in Nanaimo can get to the bottom of what certainly appears to be price fixing and gouging on the part of local gas merchants.

I'm all for a free market, but when there is no apparent competition, you have to wonder if it truly is a free market.
