Woodgrove Centre Supports Big Brothers & Big Sisters
The community was generous in their support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Central Vancouver Island during Woodgrove Centre’s Back to School Denim Drive
hosted August 25 – September 3, 2012.
Craig MacDonald, Director of Marketing & Fund Development, proudly shows off the 917 pairs of jeans and 83 bags of clothing collected. He shared, "Woodgrove's partnership in developing community organizations, like ourselves, delivers on the unspoken ‘Community Leadership’ expectations. The impact is economic, social and environmental community development through Woodgrove Centre’s generous donations of fountain coins and, even more so in support for Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Vancouver Island’s goals to start a clothing recycling social enterprise.”
This denim drive effort will help Bigs CVI launch their new Clothing Recycling Business, which will enable the organization to expand their programming and serve more kids throughout Central Vancouver Island. Scott Parker of RE/MAX donated the use of his moving truck to transport the donations.
