New Polymer $20 Canadian Bill

The two gentlemen in charge of Canada's 'green' introduced the new $20 Polymer Canadian Currency last week. The new bills officially went into circulation on Nov. 7, 2012.

Like the other bills in the polymer series these ones are very difficult to counterfeit and are far more durable than the old paper currency. It is reported however, that they are giving some grief to vending machines, notably the vending machines used by TransLink which require a software upgrade to properly handle the new bills.

The $20 bill joins the $50 and $100 bills which were rolled out earlier this year, leaving only the $5's and $10's to complete the series. The later will be coming out sometime next year.
