Diane Brennan Tweet

Follows is one of those condensed tweets the twitterverse is famous for, it is from Councillor Diane Brennan:

"Serious mispresentation at cncl mtng Dec 17It was said spending out of control. But costs r due 2 water treatment plant and Colliery dam."

I think it is very telling of how Councillor Brennan views spending at city hall, much like city staff who point to spending on selective items, while seemingly willfully blind to other expenditures.

Councillor Brennan seems to have overlooked the extra $1,000,000.00 that will go to staff wages this year, and seems to forget the $16 million for a shiny new office, not to forget devaluing the old city annex so it was worth nothing when it had an appraised value of $4,000,000.00. The $100,000 or so a communications officer cost, was a Councillor Brennan initiative which was opposed to the city manager recommendation.

As for 'serious mispresentation', it is clear Councillor Brennan's 'tweet' could also be classified as a serious mispresentation also. As for the Colliery dam added cost, I presume this means Councilor Brennan supports the idea of saving $4,000,000.00 by rehabilitation rather than destruction of the dams?

Ya' gotta luv all that political spin..........  "Look at all the money the dam will cost.....don't look at rising wages and fancy new offices"

  1. Councillor Brennan has never been known as a spent thrift, she does seem to have a knack for spending other people's money. I think she was one of the councilors who thought spending over half a million on the death trap on Victoria Rd. was a good idea. Suppose she will say spending another million is a good idea too.......
