Upcoming Agenda Items of Note
Jean Crowder MP Nanaimo-Cowichan will provide a presentation regarding local and federal government issues. Presumably this may address issues to do with the harbour.
Balanced Scorecard Presentation: Finance Director Mr. Clemens will be providing a demonstration of the Balanced Scorecard on the City's website.
Financial Plan Approval Process: staff will recommend Council endorse the process which will include adoption of the current budget on February 18 with final adoption of an amended budget by May 13, 2013.
Governance Steering Committee: council will be asked to approve the mandate and objectives for a governance steering committee. This basically is a committee that will oversee the selection of a consultant to advise city hall how it should be conducting the business of governing the city of Nanaimo.
Proponents for Centre Stage Building: this group will be addressing council explaining why they think spending another million tax dollars on a worthless building is a good use of tax dollars.
Colliery Dam Preservation Society: two people from this group will be addressing council with respect to looking into options other than the removal of Colliery Dams.
