Having A Really Bad Day!

Driver Hit By Train Fined $109.00

The 47 year old driver of this badly mangled Honda was issued a ticket for failing to yield to the train at the level crossing at Waddington Road and the Island Highway.

As the above Bulletin photo shows the driver was lucky to have escaped with only some bad upper body bruising.

I am sure that technically the issue of the ticket is valid, but you have to really wonder if any further reminders are needed for the driver to pay closer attention at railway crossings in the future.

Not sure if the attending officers had any discretion in the matter, but if they did, that might have been a good time to exercise it.

  1. agreed, and in other provinces, in major cities, rare to see a crossing without an arm.
