Empire Days Fireworks Are Back!

Nanaimo May Long Weekend Will See Fireworks Again This Year!

Some funding issues last year led to the cancellation of the ever popular fireworks display that in addition to the parade and May Queen Crowning Ceremony are highlights of the weekend's events.

The good news is that the funding is in place this year so the fireworks will once again be a part of the holiday activities. Look for some more news about some other events planned to add to the family fun factor the weekend will have to offer.

It should be noted that all of the great events which include the parade and fireworks are the result of the many countless hours volunteered by caring members of our community. Many of whom never get so much as a thank you for all their tireless work.
