Art Panels Brighten up Oliver Woods

If you have visited the Oliver Woods Community Centre or used the “Tree House Village” Playground this past month, you will have noticed that three bright and artistic gateways have been added to the popular playground.

Local artist, Yvonne Vander Kooi, has created a series of painted public art panels inspired by the forested setting surrounding the Oliver Woods facility. The gateways were designed to reinforce the forest theme in the Tree House Village playground and to make the playground entrances more visible to people.

The Oliver Woods Community Centre is a LEED Gold Certified building and the forest theme flows throughout the centre with room names and existing public art drawing inspiration from the forest. The artwork reinforces this unique sense of place to facility users of all ages.
