Help Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation

Think Pink When You Think Green At Woodgrove

Woodgrove Centre is hosting a special recycling drive from 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2013. The “Think Pink When You Think Green” event is being organized in partnership with the Nanaimo Wave Babes Dragon Boat team in support of the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. Proceeds will be used to assist with the purchase of new breast cancer screening equipment.

It’s time for spring cleaning and everyone is encouraged to bring their recyclable electronics, scrap metal and beverage containers to the large “pink bins” which will be located in the southeast corner of the Woodgrove Centre parking lot near the Chevron station. These no-longer-needed items will be processed by DBL Disposal and the Regional Recycling Nanaimo.

This is the second of three recycling drives that are planned for the year. “Woodgrove Centre is committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to environmental sustainability,” shared Nola Dunn, Woodgrove Centre’s Marketing Director. “This event is particularly special as it also creates awareness and helps to raise funds to help the fight against breast cancer.”
