TIPPLE TICKLES TASTE BUDS
FOR TENTH YEAR
Enjoy a variety of exquisite single malt scotches,
specialty spirits, local wines and craft brews paired with fine foods at Crimson
Coast Dance Society's annual Wee Tipple Scotch & Spirits Festival on Friday,
April 26.
The Festival features a variety of distilleries, breweries and wineries
offering product samples in an educational and entertaining environment. Scotch
Whisky aficionados will delight in the names and labels making rare appearances.
Some of the distilleries featured have histories reaching back two centuries in
the Scottish highlands and islands.
The event is held in The Grand Hotel’s Crystal Ballroom reflecting the
class and grace of the evening. Event Coordinator, Kim Smythe states “Last
year’s attendance was the best ever, the surroundings and atmosphere are perfect
for the audience and reflects the quality of the presentation and products.” The
event follows similar events in Victoria, Courtenay, Parksville and
Vancouver.
For those who don’t appreciate a wee dram, there will
be plenty of options. Craft brews and wines from around Vancouver Island will
also make guest appearances and the popular Tequila Table returns. Sumptuous food is a big part of the evening with
Grand Hotel chef Ian Ter Veer preparing fine tapas dishes featuring fresh, local
ingredients. Sippers will enjoy a range of delicacies from Island seafood and
shellfish to local charcuterie, baked goods and cheeses. Live entertainment
rounds out the evening.
Proceeds from the evening benefit Crimson Coast Dance Society. Holly
Bright, Society Artistic Director says, “For ten years this has been our
favourite and most successful event. Board members are soliciting quality
auction, raffle and door prizes. Event proceeds continue to be essential to our
organization. ”
