Community Gardens Plant Sale

Annual Plant Sale
Nanaimo Community Gardens
271 Pine Street
May 18 & May 19 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Each year volunteers from the Nanaimo Community Gardens Society's Greenhouse site raise beautiful, well-grown herb, vegetable and flower seedlings. These seedlings are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides from non GMO seeds and are sold to backyard gardeners throughout Nanaimo and area.

The May long weekend is traditionally the ideal time for planting out your tender, heat-loving annual vegetables. So join us to buy some plants and talk to the volunteers who have raised the little seedlings in our greenhouse. They can tell you exactly how the plants were grown and give you information on the varieties and how to grow them in your garden. And thanks to the Greenhouse volunteers who make this all possible!

There will be composting workshops, demonstrations, garden tours, music, children's activities and more. In addition to being a plant sale it should be a fun family day also with face painting and balloon animals among other activities. Overflow parking will be at St. Peter's Church.
