May Long Weekend Parade & Fireworks In Nanaimo

Fun, Family Event  Packs Downtown Nanaimo

As the above file photo clearly shows, you have to get downtown early to get a spot along the parade route. This year will be no exception.

A pancake breakfast and lots of fun activities for the kids in Diana Krall Plaza on parade day is a new addition to the celebrations this year. 


Schedule of Events

 
Saturday May 18
10:30am - May Queen party visits the Nanaimo Museum
12 noon - May Queen fires the noon cannon in Pioneer Plaza
2pm - May Queen visits the Military Museum
1pm-3pm - HMCS Nanaimo open house at the Cruise Ship Terminal


Sunday May 19
10am - Kinsmen pancake breakfast in Diana Krall Plaza
10:30am - Children's activities in Diana Krall Plaza
12 noon - St. Pauls Angican Church hot dog sale
12:45pm - Bastion Running Club, Bastion Mile Race downtown
1pm - 146th annual Empire Days Parade - traditional route through downtown
10pm - "Fireworks over the Harbour" - Nanaimo Waterfront
