Nanaimo - - - - - the good!

Blue Skies, Warm Climate & Clean Air

The weather this past week or so has put a very fine point on just how fortunate we are to live in this little piece of paradise. Unseasonably high temperatures have us all enjoying activities that we normally expect to occur in the middle of June at the earliest.

My wife and I always enjoy regular visits to the many great outdoor spots to be found around Nanaimo, and one of our favourites is Piper's Lagoon Park off Hammond Bay Rd. For us it is a little special as we were married their at sunrise  XX years ago.

The lagoon with its view of picturesque shack island and the local wildlife never fail to make any trip there one to remember. While we visited today I commented to my missus 'no matter how many times you come here, it never gets stale or ho hum'.

So Piper's Lagoon Park, goes on my list of Nanaimo - - -  the good!

Follows are a few 'snaps' we took Tuesday afternoon, I know you have to squint but there really is a bald eagle sitting in the nest on the very top of the evergreen tree. Judging from it's behaviour I think it is safe to say there are eaglets in that nest.

Two 'buds' share a game of 'fetch the stick'. They seemed to know the rules.
If you squint really hard you can see the white head of the eagle.
The Lagoon being enjoyed by the 'locals'.
