Unlike our local civic leaders, Premier Clark seems to get it. There is very little appetite for those of us not employed in the government-funded amusement park to keep shelling out for these overly generous pay packets.
After getting an earful from the public Premier Clark has wisely decided to cancel her previously announced raises.
We can only hope that those in charge at city hall will also begin to realize that ever increasing raises that exceed the consumer price index are simply not on as far as the average taxpayer is concerned.
Speaking of which, as much as we all love our firemen, are they really needing another 20% increase on top of their already respectable incomes?
