Lil' Miss Bushtit

Clearing The Clematis of Critters

Not the most colourful or striking bird in the kingdom of birds, these industrious feathered friends are always a delight to watch. They just seem to have a personality that makes up for the otherwise drab plumage.

They are much like chick-a-dees to watch but seem to be a little bit tighter wound, if you get my meaning. These little guys hop and bop about the branches and leaves looking for near microscopic critters which is why I am sure our plants are nearly bug free, without any type of intervention on my part.

Getting a good, in focus shot of one of these mighty mights is challenging as their movements are very erratic and they seem to stay in one place for nano-seconds. If you look closely at this one, you can actually see the highlight in her eye.
