Nanaimo Harvest Festival Invites Vendors & Exhibits

NANAIMO’S HARVEST FESTIVAL
CELEBRATES LOCAL FOOD MOVEMENT

Nanaimo’s third annual Harvest Festival celebrates all things culinary in a very colourful way in the Old City Quarter on Saturday, September 14. The heart of the Festival is a street full of educational displays and interactive presentations focused on the local food movement and a Farmer’s Market.

The free one-day event also includes a Fresh Food Fair featuring local chefs and food trucks, a baby animal petting farm for the kids and non-stop live bluegrass and roots blues performers on stage.

The Festival’s Farmer’s & Vendor’s Market offers fresh produce, seafood, pork, chicken and beef and value-added products from local growers and producers. A dozen displays highlighting local food sources, Nanaimo’s emerging regional food strategy, recycling, community gardens and kitchens, our water resources, and much, much more. Bunnies, lambs, goats, a calf and baby chicks will be there for the petting and cuddling as Tiger Lily Farms returns with their corral of critters for the little ones to learn a bit about farm life.

Organizers are inviting vendors and exhibitors to register for a booth and help fill Wesley Street with more Harvest Festival themed products and programs. More details will be released as they become available. Contact the organizers at 250-758-5555 or email eventguy@shaw.ca.
