Preventative Injunction Hearing July 4

City vs Dave Cutts and John & Jane Doe

After a few days of delay apparently the court docket is clear to now hear the case of the City of Nanaimo applying for a preventative injunction to stop anyone from delaying the process of removing the dams at Colliery Dam Park.

This issue has been contentious since it was announced last November and has seen many twists and turns along the way. Perhaps this application to have an injunction issued before any action has taken place is cause for serious concern on the part of all Nanaimo citizens.

You see, each and everyone of us are named in that application as we are John and Jane Doe. It does seem like some pretty high handed on the part of our elected and non-elected officials, especially when you consider it seems that only a select few at city hall favour the current course of action.

The case is scheduled to be heard at 10:00 am in the Nanaimo Courthouse.
