Shrub and Tree Planting at Neck Point

Volunteers at Work at Neck Point

If you go down to the park Saturday, you are sure to be in for a pleasant surprise! Along with City of Nanaimo Parks staff, more than forty volunteers from local TD Bank branches and local Brownie and Guides troops will be planting a variety of over 200 native species of shrubs and trees at Neck Point Park on Saturday, September 21, 9am to 1pm.

Their efforts are a part of the nationwide TD Tree Day launched in 2010 by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. Neck Point will be one site of one hundred and forty across Canada that the teams of volunteers will be working in. Additional volunteers are more than welcome to join in on Saturday, just check in with Parks staff on site.
