The paparazzi snapped these two photos of President Obama who, like many world leaders was attending the service for Nelson Mandela in South Africa.
This of course has nothing to do with Nanaimo but were two interesting snaps I just couldn't resist. They say a picture is worth a thousands words, and indeed these two pictures probably could say more.
These pics appeared in several different publications, all of which included their own commentary. The most common remark was whether it was appropriate for Prime Minister Cameron, President Obama and Prime Minister Thorning to be snapping a selfie at Mr. Mandela's memorial.
I don't presume to know what First Lady Obama is thinking, but if she were a member of royalty rather than a democracy, you could imagine that 'she is not amused'.
