Worth Repeating

Every now and then someone says something so simple and yet profound it sheds a whole new light on things. I was in conversation with someone discussing the current state of education in Nanaimo, and while that was the source of the comment, it applies pretty much all across the board.

Worth repeating  " We were and are at the mercy of stupid people "

  1. It is truly difficult to repair a large institution after years of bad decisions and just doing nothing. We finally have a Superintendent who knows what he is doing, is decisive and is bold enough to make changes i.e terminate people, close schools and institute real change. He is being fought at every step of the way by those who have a vested interest in no change.

Just because you do not get what you want, does not mean that you were not consulted, heard and engaged. It just is not possible to keep tiny schools open in the current provincial funding framework.
