Nanaimo Area Stocked Fishing Lakes

During the month of March the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC released a total of 6800 fish into Nanaimo area lakes.

They released 500 rainbow in Colliery #3, 850 rainbow into Diver Lake, 1891 rainbow into Long Lake, 1250 rainbow into Green Lake and 2300 into Westwood Lake.

The fish are all described as being rainbow of the Fraser Valley strain and are 'Spring Catchable', so it looks like trout should be on the menu tonight!

For more information about the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and the gofishbc  programs visit their website.

Note: I believe that Colliery #3 does not include the two lower ponds, which have been such a hot topic in Nanaimo this past year.
