Is Linley Valley A Good Deal @ $9 million?
Ink barely dry on financial plan - being amended next council meeting!!!
I totally agree that our parks and trails are all a part of what makes Nanaimo a desireable place to live. That said, are the taxpayers getting a good deal in the Linley Valley for $9,000,000.00? Are we paying now, for poor planning in the past? Why not borrow the money, rather than deplete reserves?
These are all valid questions, which would have been nice to have answered before they decided to clean out the cookie jar in another closed door meeting. Perhaps at the next city council meeting, when council will be asked to amend the financial plan (which they just adopted on May 12) we may get some answers.
Remember of course this is an election year, and this council likely has no problem securing votes with YOUR tax dollar.
