Has This Council Ever Seen A Dollar It Didn't Spend?
Nanaimo taxpayers should have 0% tax increase for two years!
The fact is, if this council really was serious about not increasing your taxes they had the perfect opportunity to give Nanaimo taxpayers a 0% tax increase for the next 2 - 3 years by simply applying the surplus taxes they have already collected over the past two years.
Instead they have chosen to take that surplus and put it into a slush fund of some kind ..................... that was how they spent $15 million on the new annex without asking the public's permission!!

Councillors Kipp, Bestwick and McKay did NOT support this budget.
Councillors Brennan, Greves, Johnston, Pattje, Anderson, & Mayor Ruttan chose to keep taxing & spending! (The Tax & Spend Brigade!)
Take note Nanaimo of who NOT to vote for come November!
