Airplane Crash At Cottonwood Golf Course

Crash Near Nanaimo Airport Claims Two Lives


A single engine, two seater amateur built Avid amphibious aircraft crashed on takefoff from Nanaimo Airport on Saturday evening. the Vancouver Sun reports.

The aircraft crashed on takeoff going down on the nearby Cottonwood Golf course near the 15th hole. There were some golfers on the course at the time but no injuries were reported.

No details are being released at this point relating to the crash victims. The RCMP, the Transportation Safety Board and the BC Coroner's service are investigating the crash.
