Nanaimo Hilton Hotel Project

Land Sale, Rezoning and Park Lease On Mondays' Agenda

There are three items on the next city council meeting that will be laying the groundwork for the construction of the 303 room Hilton Hotel proposed on the Insight property at 10 and 28 Front Street.

The first item on the agenda is the sale of an unnamed lane adjacent to 10 & 28 Front Street to Insight Holdings Ltd. for the sum of $475,000.

The second item is a rezoning application in order to allow a high-rise hotel development on the site.

The third and final item is seeking approval to lease a portion of Georgia Park to facilitate the construction of a patio, water features, public staircase and loading bay as part of the proposed Hilton Hotel project.

The above rendering shows the proposed hotel looking from the waterside towards Front St., the highrise on Chapel Street is to the right, and the Pacifica condominiums are on the left.
