Bold Knight Restaurant & Old City Station Pub

Judged Best Overall Chowder

The first Chowder competition held this past Saturday sponsored by Lucky's Liquor Store and the Chamber of Commerce resulted in a tie for the best chowder overall.

The Bold Knight Restaurant and the Old City Station Pub took top honors with their versions of a traditional New England chowder.

Best use of local ingredients went to Riso for using herbs picked from their own deck garden. While Longwood Brew Pub took honors for using the most unique ingredient, which was a beer they brewed themselves.

The people's choice winner will be announced on Tuesday. The event allowed guests to sample all 12 chowders for $12, which was a very satisfying meal. The weather could not have been better for what will likely prove to be an annual event.
