The Times Colonist reports that Eli Williams 22, was arrested by Gabriola Island RCMP following a vicious assault outside the Old City Pub on Skinner Street.
When officers arrived they found two injured men, one 26 year old with a severe wound to his neck and other 32 year old with bad cuts who was unconscious.
Const. Gary O'Brien described the injuries caused by a broken beer bottle horrendous and said that if it had not been for the emergency medical aid the injuries could have been fatal.
Eli Williams is in custody charged with assault, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact the Nanaimo police bike unit at 250-754-2345.

Williams almost killed a man. I hope the justice system responds appropriately.
