Departure Bay Rd Project Nearly Complete

City Crews Complete Line Painting

The project behind Brooks Landing, near Tim Hortons which began on August 13 was substantially complete on October 3 with some minor work still needing to be completed which includes curbs and sidewalk and access to Tim Hortons and the Co-op Gas Station.

Motorists traveling through the area were not too inconvenienced as the work did not close the entire road at any time. The total project came with a price tag of $774,000 which was approved by council last June.

The work included replacing 120 metres of concrete sewer pipe, 12 meters of water pipe, relining 20 metres of storm pipe and repaving approximately 9500 square metres of asphalt.

The work is expected to be complete entirely by Oct. 17.
